No, successive figures over a single bass note are normal, Denemo's
syntax for entering them is to separate them with the | character.
Denemo divides (as best it can) the duration in the LilyPond output
equally between the figure groups that are above one note, taking
advantage of any dotted note if it has three groups.

That works great. More serious writers likely can spot intervalic distances at
a glance and this labeling would be a superfluous feature in those cases.
People who teach counterpoint may find the labeling to be an important aid for
students.
It is most beneficial that Denemo (already) caters to a variety of skill
levels, and can be put to use in many differing scenarios. Awesome program.
