I think the merge command would be  something like:

svn merge -r n:m  https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/db/derby/code/trunk

where n is the change to bump to 10.3 alpha right after the branch and m is the last change we want included, but I can't volunteer either, so was just throwing this out as an idea.
