I responded in the bug but duplicating here: There is no File > Upgrade... menu item. That should probably be part of bug 603. In any case, traditionally that kind of functionality goes into Help menu AFAIK, and be named "Check for upgrade...". I think we should automatically bring up an upgrade check dialog a few minutes after startup, where the user can say if they want to automatically check for upgrades on startup. If they do so, upgrade check happens silently, but when there is an upgrade available it would pop up this upgrade check dialog with the [Check] part hidden. IMO there should also be an option to open a browser on the download page. -- Heikki Toivonen
