I'd really rather not let this drop. There's a real need for better discoverability of the documentation, as evidenced by the +1s on this thread.

How do we keep forward momentum? Who can make this change? I'd be happy to drive this, but AFAIK I don't have the power to actually make anything happen on that page.

What's the proposal exactly?

* A link to reference documentation on the front page of http://chandlerproject.org . In this case, I want something that will take me to a page that has a link to "Server Administrator Documentation." In the future, however, I'll very likely want a link to a page that has a link to "Chandler Desktop Documentation." "Chandler Desktop Documentation" would be a table of contents that I can navigate to find out how feature X works (from an end-user perspective) without a whole lot of handholding.

So something like:

Report a Bug
Project Wiki
Documentation

where "Documentation" goes to:

-------
Chandler Project Documentation

Chandler Desktop Documentation
Chandler Server Documentation
Chandler Hub Documentation
--------

And each of these links go to Documentation overview pages for each project.

We could put a Documentation link underneath:

Download Chandler Server.
    Admin Documentation

I'm not just looking for server docs, I found the Desktop docs difficult to discover as well.

Is *part* of the problem that internally, nobody ever goes to 'Download' the server?

Not sure what you're saying here, could you elaborate?

Thanks!

There appears to be a general consensus on this. Who has the ability to change http://chandlerproject.org, and who has final say on the layout of that page?

I have the same problem getting to docs. +1 on a Documentation link or similar.

I disagree. In my case (and, I posit, many users who are not new to the project) "Get Started" does not suggest what I'm looking for. I already started a long time ago, I'm looking for specific end-user reference information. What I really want is a "Documentation" link on http://chandlerproject.org
