I followed what was there before. Are you asking to include a tarball too? If 
so, yep I'll roll another RC that merely adds that in.  If you meant some other 
artifact such as the VM for OCW let me know as I was not quite sure how to 
include such an artifact in the release.  Any pointers would be helpful.

Agreed, I will update to remove SVN and transition to GIT.

Nope I toiled with that. Thanks for bringing it up. I just was on the fence 
when the tag was necessary. My thought was to create it after the vote passed 
and pin it to the commit hash I referenced. This would have been cleared up 
with the release documentation updated as mentioned above. That said I think 
this was a mistake on my behalf as the community when voting on the release 
should be able to verify fully that the release is done.

Agreed as not a blocker. Did you create an issue for 0.5 on this?

Given the above comments I'd like to roll another RC. The earliest I would get 
to this is Friday evening as I'll be on vacation. There's only a few minor 
changes but enough to make sure this is done right.
