I'll be the first one to say I don't think a HTML toolkit is going to cut
it for all cases, but have you seriously looked at and used any of the
browser-based financial packages aimed at SME's? It's possible to build a
UI / UX at least as productive as Swing there, and it's potentially easier
to develop too.

Anyway, this whole thing is going a bit in circles. We need to look at
improving the POCs in NetBeans to be able to show where (and where not)
this approach is viable and useful.
