Hi Siegfried, I have a test branch doing the following 2 things, 1. To enable the Japanese IME in settings. 2. To get back the Japanese dictionary that we removed in bug 808849 [1].
You may give it a try. https://github.com/RudyLu/gaia/tree/Japanese_ime Please be warned that this may not work that well due to memory issue, but you can try this with B2G Desktop build or try to run it in Firefox Nightly [2] if you run into any issues with device.
