going to boost the link's rating already.
Yep I was being way too verbose in my searches with things like
"modifying zte open boot image" or "fixing
zte open boot loop", etc. But as you said hopefully we're raising
awareness by linking to Andrews post and
I saw Roland has got a nice post about it now too.
1.5 (now called 2.0) is the current master so that's going to be fairly
unstable even on other phones. 1.4 should be in decent shape but it's
not fully stabilized yet. 1.3 is pretty solid on the other hand; in my
experience it's fairly pleasing to use for a primary phone.
1.3 did seem to be pretty good on the Open with my generic build. I did
get a little funny behaviour when I started
playing with "market customizations" to alter the browser to show
multiple search engines and pre-load custom
bookmarks, the funny behaviour was simply that the phone booted fine
without a sim but when putting my sim in
it auto loaded a twitter web app on the home screen as if I had set up a
market customization to do that (however
the only file in my market customization directory was for the browser).
I haven't had much time to work on it
(real life getting in the way). I did get an Open C and it is very nice
with 1.3 on it. The Open C/1.3 is smooth enough
that I'm using it as my "daily driver" and hopefully I can get back to
tinkering with my original Open build soon,
(although I cant wait for developer details on the Open C to be
published so I can start tinkering with that too lol).
