Namaste Vikram,

I can't say anything about Agave as I never worked with it. I know David Zülke and will meet him on friday over a few beers. Will ask him about his opinion.

Nevertheless for me this isn't really a choice.

Why does OXID raise the question to port to ZF?

Not because of technical reasons. Simply because ZF is already inudstry standard in PHP Area and will be even more important in the future. Therefore many developer know ZF, are used to it, there is much documentation available, exams and - to come to an end - this is clearly the future for the majority of all PHP applications.

Don't forget that even OXID themselve did build up a certain amount of ZF knowhow as efire is based on it.

That's the reason why it's wise to port to ZF. Speaking from technical point of view - there is absolutly no reason to change anything. The oxid framework itself is well grown over the years, robust and fast. OXID users and partners know it already. Therefore I would never support any other framework besides ZF.

Greetings to india,

d.

P.S. where are you based? mumbai?

Hi Lars,

#5 it's a simple, easy to use framework and not some overweight overbloated fat monster like e.g. cake or symphony

I would agree with you re: the above point. What is your opinion of Agavi as a framework? It is not as loosely coupled as ZF but at the same time, it is a very good MVC implementation and I believe offers performance that is slightly better than symfony.

Vikram
