Mirza, updating the database only as you come from 4.5.0 to the latest version is probably not the worst idea. Use the updateApp.php to achieve that! In case of SQL errors like you describe it check the MySQL version you run. Also - independent from the database - there's the so called oxchkversion to check the consistency of your files, before and after the update process.
