Hold your horses gentlemen....

The API is being rewritten - in a much clear and non-language specific
manner.  The problems you're encountering isn't a matter of language, it's
a matter of inconsistent (or undocumented) use of the protocol.  This will
be fixed, and you can write it in any language you like - I'm actually
brushing up my PL/1 skills just for the occasion :)
