Just noticed that I misspoke earlier in this thread.

The CHANGES in RC2 were *only* the 1.5.1 changes with 1.5.0 changes omitted. I had initially said that it was the combination of 1.5.0 and 1.5.1 but this was something that I had done, but did not end up in the final RC2.

I don't 100% recall (although I could probably dig through IRC logs).

Christopher initially told me "we've previously just included the
changes for that release, not recorded a history of previous releases".
I believe he recommended that the CHANGES file shouldn't even include
1.5.0 changes (although he did say that he doesn't care for the CHANGES
file at all).

a27f60b2 can likely be reverted and this will bring back the 1.5.0
changes beneath the 1.5.1 changes. This is what I would prefer, tbh, but
we have nothing firm.

I had put out a question a couple of different times in IRC about this,
actually.

I originally had it broken down into 1.5.1 changes, with 1.5.0 changes
listed below. Others (I don't remember who) didn't care for this
approach
so I lumped all of the 1.5.x changes together in one block.

Why? What was the rationale for doing this?

I would also like to hear rationale. ATM I'm inclined to -1
