Can I break this down into 3 potential targets? We currently have users asking about a possible 5.9.1 release to fix some serious issues there. In addition, we have been talking about getting a 5.10 release out that has some of the newer updates.
My proposal would be: For 5.9.1 - console pretty much “as is” except the critical fixes. Likely the URL encoding fixes and the OOM fixes. For 5.10.0 - include the other fixes such as the war size reductions and dependency updates, etc…. Go through the various JIRA’s that have patches and look at them. Nothing earth shattering at this point as I wouldn’t want to hold up 5.10, but make sure users that have submitted patches and such have their solutions incorporated to show the console is being updated. For 5.11 - I’m assuming this would be the target for this discussion. :-) For this, I’m certainly OK with flipping from the JSP based approach to, well, anything. If you feel AngularJS/Bootstrap is the best way to go, I’d certainly support that and be happy to learn a bit to help out. At this point, however, I’m kind of concentrating on what I can do for the 5.10.0 and 5.9.1 releases. I’d like to do whatever I can to get those out.
