Hi Tom, I'm not sure I'm getting your message, sorry.
Working in this project is a great joy to me. Since 2001 (this was my start with ArgoUML) we really made huge progress in many areas thanks to the commitment of the team: documentation, processes and tools, modularization, switch from NSUML to MDR and many more. Also, people were always gentle and willing to help. For me it's clear that as long as I use UML I'll stay with ArgoUML, no doubt about it. But we have both strenghts and weaknesses, so sometimes working in this project is also a frustration for me. For me two issues are the constant lack of contributing developers and the very slow progress in defining a direction. The first has it's reasons, and I don't want to write about it now, but I feel there's something we could improve in the second point. I've suggested to organize a decision process as a possible solution, and I believe it has nothing to do with dictatorship. Maybe I'm wrong with my analysis, but at least we can agree about that there's still no plan for: - What will we do for release 0.30? - What are the milestones for a release 1.0? Do we ever want a 1.0? I know that you are in favor of pushing ArgoEclipse, and I agree about the importance, although I prefer to work with a standalone edition. So I thought we should work together on the technological basis, which is the switch to Eclipse UML via our euml implementation. This is a huge task and will need the collaborative effort of the whole team (including disregard of other important topics and helping each other with providing technical documentation), so we need to decide when this should be done (and how!).
