Dennis E. Hamilton commented on COR-10:
---------------------------------------
I dug around in the node.js installation on my computer.
The current footprint of files is about 16MB, and half of that is related to
NPM, the package manager and all the packages that have been installed. There
is also 20MB in AppData (for NPM and other packages I have installed).
Another feature is that node.js does not have to be always on in the background
the way a web server tends to be.
I have not explored this much. I have it installed because keybase.io runs
under it (not as a server) and there are Visual Studio tools for it (although I
have not used those).
Node has pre-built binaries for 32-bit and 64-bit on Windows, OSX, Linux, and
SunOS. Not sure how that works with respect to iOS and Android.
I'm not proposing this, only pointing out that there are more avenues to
explore.
