I agree, and this is definitively not what I want to do. For the moment,
I just want *basic* tools to display a map if a table contains
geographical data.

I've been thinking about this solution instead of a brand new display
window, but it seems a bit "static" : I would like to zoom, scroll and
highlight objects when records are selected, and I don't see how OOo
Draw could achieve this.
