Is the admin really an admin or just a supermod? If contact cant be reached why not set it up under a subdomain for now or some site? That way you can setup a redirect to oooforum.org if the admin comes back from his/her vacation and you will not have to pay for a domain. ($6 yeah I know really expensive :-)
I think we (I say that loosely since I have only been a member of the mailing list for maybe a week) should stick to .org I can donate hosting space on our unloaded 64 bit linux server which I have physical access to and we own on its own dedicated 5 MB connection. Yes I could get one of those $100 servers colocated 6 states away, but I woudnt have access to it 24x7. It has cpanel.. the works.. blah blah blah I just thought I would throw that in there.
