It has been questioned. Many time.
It has been explained. Numerous, numerous times.
It has remained a core tenet for decades.
(no idea why the idea of "trust(ing) the founders" is such an anathema. We
readily trust other experts and founders regarding other philosophical points
of view... but even so, trust has nothing to do with it. It's been questioned,
answered and abided by for 20 years).
