Outreachy seeks sponsors to fund the general fund each round (every six
months). We have some general fund sponsors who have an agreement to donate
a specific amount each year.

Yearly donors help us more, because they provide a steady funding source we
can use for long-term projects, like hiring additional staff. Outreachy is
run by just me currently. We've paid hourly contractors before, but they've
moved onto other full-time opportunities.

I would be open to discussing how Outreachy and the ASF could work
together. The only thing I can think of right now is promotion, but with 15
times more applicants than mentors, I don't think promoting to applicants
will be helpful. Promoting Outreachy to ASF sponsor companies might help
us. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but we can
brainstorm more.
