If we just moved to a time-driven release cycle where we released on a
monthly basis regardless of what features had been completed, I think we
could ensure at least a more regular and hopefully a more frequent release
process.

Would that be a good approach to try and adopt. Provided we have timely
review of the incoming pull requests, we should have a steady flow of code
that can gradually and regularly get released. I think moving to that
monthly cycle will establish better clarity around the timing and process
to the community. Such that when we announce the release branch, we can do
the necessary QA and sanity checking and in parallel be prepping the PRs
that will be going into next release.

Nazeer, Avik, Nikhil, Vishwas and others who've been coordinating release
management - is this something you think we could handle?
