Hello Myrle Though i have never done it before but I would like to join in to assist on release management.
I will take as an opportunity to learn how its done and way of giving back to the community. I would like to know what knowledge must i have/acquire for me to perform this role Best Regards ----- Original Message ----- From: "Myrle Krantz" <[email protected]> To: "dev" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, February 6, 2018 11:24:01 AM Subject: Re: [Mifos-developer] Updates on Release Timing for Apache Fineract 1.1 On Tue, Feb 6, 2018 at 3:11 AM, Ed Cable <[email protected]> wrote: > If we just moved to a time-driven release cycle where we released on a > monthly basis regardless of what features had been completed, I think we > could ensure at least a more regular and hopefully a more frequent release > process. The current documentation about release management states that "Release branches are created every two months at the beginning of the following month from the changes that were merged by the last day of the previous month" (1) That's just a draft, and we haven't been keeping to that. To do that, we'd need multiple volunteers to step up and take on the release management role. It doesn't have to be just people who've already done it, and probably even if those people were on board in principle, they are not enough in number to keep it consistent. > Nazeer, Avik, Nikhil, Vishwas and others who've been coordinating release > management - is this something you think we could handle? In addition to those who've already been involved in release management, is anyone who is currently working on Fineract 1.x interested in learning to do it?
