The POI is not nearly as populated as Google's, but they are leaps and
bounds ahead of everybody else.

ESRI's flex API is pretty good (our bread & butter GIS apps are all based on it but these are all tied to client's big buck arcGIS servers) but their public spatial data is nowhere near google's, especially larger scaled data in urban areas. ESRI's coarser data also effects other functionality like elevation profile & routing.

google dropping flex was a crying shame.
