Hi all,

I see severe performance problems in Draw.

For DEV300_m39, Full AntiAliasing and Full drag are enabled (see FeatureMails for it, and #i28526#, #i95646#). Maybe You have a Problem with one of those. Both can be switched off by configuration, though.

I have unchecked AntiAliasing. That brought no improvement.

In the spec I find "The option 'Modify objects with Attributes' will by default be enabled. For Draw/Impress, the default for the button will be enabled, too. In Draw/Impress, it is possible to switch on/off that option using the button." But that button do not work, I can click it, but it doesn't change it's state.

I have tried also, setting SolidDragCreate to false, in Common.xcs. It brought no improvement. Are there other places, which might prevent that the setting works?

More interesting is: What System are You running on? It should not get that slow as You are describing. If it does, we need to look at it and i hope for Your help giving Feedback to improve this.

So, what System are You running on?

WinXP SP3.
AMD Athlon XP 1.15GHz; 1.00GB RAM
NVIDIA Geforce3 Ti200

(1) == Dragging objects with the mouse ==
I have got a Draw page with a text box and some colored rectangles, which I want to lay over some text parts to emphasize them.
I have enabled guide lines.

In former versions I could drag the rectangle, the guidelines are alway visible and are immediately at the current place. Now I move the mouse, but no guide lines there. After roughly one second, if I do not move the mouse, the guide lines appear suddenly, but surely not at the position I need them, because I could not see them before. After releasing the mouse, first the guide lines disappear and then the rectangle jumps to the new position; in most cases I could not hit the desired place.

This behavior makes it impossible to position objects with the mouse.

(2) == Fine tuning position with Alt+Arrow key ==
Try to move an object with Alt+Arrow. You have to wait roughly one second after each key press and release until the object moves. There has been a smooth movement in former versions when pressing and holding down the key. Now the object only moves, if you release the key.

(3) == Styling an object ==
Change the background color, change border from invisible to continues, change stack position; for each operation you have to wait, speedy working is impossible.

I'm very disappointed. :(

kind regards
Regina
