Hi Bernhard,

I'm sorry that I don't have any solution for you except to look at
the gengal tool that is in one of the OOo program directories. I never
used it but it maybe does what you need.

Beside that I think it is time that we start re designing the gallery
as it is really comming of age.

Right now I have the following improvements on my mental list:

- make it possible to add new gallery themes with extensions
- make it possible to add templates and slides to the gallery
- add online content access to the gallery (facebook, youtube, e.t.c.)

All in all I love the gallery to become more like an "asset manager"
than just a place with some clip art. Adding search and taging
functionality. Maybe even shared galleries.

I may create an initial wiki page so anyone who likes to work with
me on this please drop a note. But this is definitly something for
the time after OOo 3.2 is finished.

Regards,
Christian

Hi all,

I don't want to keep you off the discussion (and work) for the SVG-implementation really needed, but as I try to improve the clipart gallery by providing the present gallery themes (mainly from the 2006 Documentation Project contest, see [1]) as extensions, there are a few topics I want to address one by one, if I know about the right people to ask.

For the moment my most important point is:
- If I add some files from my file system to a gallery theme, they are not embedded, but linked to it.

After creation of an extension anybody else can't use them, because the links still point to my computer [2].

Do I really have to copy every single clipart to a document and re-insert it to the gallery? This would take much more time than I wanted to invest on that task.

Is there a way I didn't see?

Best regards

Bernhard

PS:If this question would better be posted anywhere else, please tell me.
