Hmm ... well, there were several problems in Malayalam, which I have fixed in 
a hackish sort of way (ie, fixing ICU bugs), but so far, using OOo 1.9.79 
there seems to be no problems for Malayalam at least. Looking at the 
screenshots at the redhat bugzilla, they look like mark positioning errors, 
so seems not to be ICU errors. In our fonts, we do not use GPOS except for 
latin diacritical marks.

Secondly, the specs for OTF shaping at microsoft typography seems to be 
out-dated, and I would like to know your sources for accurate specs.
