Fair points, as always.

I can only speak for myself, but I think most people in the community
mainly expected votes and feedback on this first RC from our mentors and
possibly other people who are more familiar with the Apache Way.

That said, we can definitely do more. We can add some information about the
release process to our community page[1]: a brief explanation of the
release/voting process, a checklist of what the community can do to review
a release, a quick explanation of the binding vs non-binding votes etc.
There is a lot of information available about the release and voting
processes, but I guess expecting people to go out and find that information
on their own before they start to review and vote won't work.
