Patch Set 6: I ran the tests locally. However I couldn't run the exhaustive tests as the jenkins slaves have "ulimit -l" set to very low (64kb) (A higher value is required since we are trying to cache more than 100mb). So this change is dependent on an aux fix to run properly.
