Tanping Wang commented on KNOX-843:
-----------------------------------
[~lmccay] Here is the user scenario:
We would like to have Knox to support multiple Spark Thrift server. So the
inbound traffic to the cluster goes to
Knox -> multiple Spark thrift server (for Spark SQL) -> Yarn/Spark.
The multiple Spark thrift server needs to all be active. So we decided to use
Knox dispatcher to support active/active. We do not have to use mod_proxy or
nigix for load balancing the inbound traffic to Knox. I believe what you had
pointed out is
mod_proxy/nigix/other load balancer -> Knox -> Yarn/Spark.
This is different than the user scenario that we are trying to resolve. That's
why I think the JIRA needs to be re-worded a bit.

> Knox should support load balancing across HA service instances rather than
> just offering failover.
> One solution may be to add an option to the HAProvider.
