Just a heads up - here is some data from a couple of days ago when I
checked how many users have installed v3.0.0rc1 release so far, to see if
we can already start a voting thread for v3.0.0 stable.

That's data for the last 30 days and it's based on PyPi usage data. I also
wonder who / what is pulling down those ancient, pre 1.0 releases...
Perhaps someone who is still using some ancient Python version.

I will dig in some more in PyPi data on BigQuery, but I need to be careful
since it's easy to spend 10's of $ on BigQuery queries which operate on
large datasets...
