It would be a lot easier if you used a database and the client created the
spreadsheet online. Any reason why they wont do this ?

Subject: [CF-Dev] Excel Datasource

>- see footer for list info -<
I have a requirement where the client stores lots of financial data on a
spreadsheet.

I want to be able to use this spreadsheet as a datasource.

Here are the concearns. The spreadsheet changes quaterly. Sometimes in its
physical structure i.e. column names won't be the same. The client wants to
have an easy mechanism to upload the spreadsheet and the application does
the rest.

So.....

I was thinking that the client could upload the spreadsheet via a backend
system. CF would then need to create an on the fly datasource to this
spreadsheet and be able to read all of the column headings etc ..... I have
no idea how to even start this one....?

Can this even be done?
Can anyone point me in the direction of some reading around this ...?

Regards - Paul
