>- see footer for list info -< The various encrypt methods that are now available in CFMX7 are pretty powerful, you have AEN, DES, SHA and more. They are significantly better than cfusion_encrypt too, which is not especially strong encryption. Try about the various different methods to find one that that works for you. If you don't need to decrypt then one way encryption is best, such as Hash(). This is perfect for passwords, as you simply generate a new password if the user loses it.

Example: <cfquery name="ins1" datasource="#request.dsn#" password="#request.pwd#"> INSERT INTO tbl_example (name, dob) VALUES ('#encrypt(name,"12345")#','#encrypt(dob,"12345")#') </cfquery> The encrypted strings cause a problem with the db query because of the charaters that are outputted. IE. the above query goes through like this: INSERT INTO tbl_example (name, dob) VALUES ('%;E:0MOP ','(# O1[ZQBUO< ') Thanks, Damien _______________________________________________ For details on ALL mailing lists and for joining or leaving lists, go to http://list.cfdeveloper.co.uk/mailman/listinfo -- CFDeveloper Sponsors:- >- Hosting provided by www.cfmxhosting.co.uk -< >- Forum provided by www.fusetalk.com -< >- DHTML Menus provided by www.APYCOM.com -< >- Lists hosted by www.Gradwell.com -< >- CFdeveloper is run by Russ Michaels, feel free to volunteer your help -< ********************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed and should not be disclosed to any other party.
