well I do like the self documenting feature of cfc's, a bit of a timesaver
that one.

Yes, I accept your point, but, as I said, you'll probably find the biggest
gain is that you can do more in the same time. The absolute speed increase
will be less. Although compiled, you must still open, run and close each
call. On simple actions, not much change. But, you can do more in the same
time.
