Its ridiculous to assume that "everybody knows". Paul, Its worthwhile looking at the NorthWind database example that installs on SQL server as default. It should give you a good idea as to how to set up a database, odbc and all that. You'll probably have to reinstall some things because the Master db and a couple of others are system dbs which are necessary for SQL server to run.
