However now cf is making the java bridge, I believe the whole community will gain more credibility -----Original Message----- From: Snake Hollywood [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 12 January 2004 17:33 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [ cf-dev ] CF Salaries Lets not diss CF here... It's not rocket science to do ASP, PHP or CFML. CFML just gets tagged as SIMPLE because it is tag based and thus similar to HTML. But Since CFMX it isn't quite such the case since you need to be a bit more programmer savvy to do CFC's and there is a bit of a JAVA requirmeent despite whatever MM say. Anyone can use webmonkey or pickup a book, learn the language and call themselves a developer in whatever they like. It's a different kettle of fish to write good code, create good apps, and to be able to teach those skills to other people. Being able to use a handful of the basic CFML tags is simple yes, understanding coldfusion and what all the tags and functions do and how best to implement/use them and in what siutations is no different than any of the other languages. I have seen worse shit written in CF than I have in ASP.
