Strongly in favor here! I'm currently repackaging the war to use log4j bindings and would love to avoid that step.
Really it seems like this should be an option in the build (since it must be in the war, or at least if slf4j is in the war, then so must the binding). Like if there were an ant property you could set with -D that says which binding you want?
