Unfortunately not a lot of 'productive criticism'.

There have been some suggestions such as doing a complete re-write in
Java, which would solve the apparent "code-mess" problems which are
there, as well as allowing native interfaces just by using swing, and
also compiling using GCJ easily to all platforms which have Java
support; I suppose this is feasible due to Sun supporting both
projects.

Otherwise there is an idea of using the QT port for KDE, and moving it
to the mac to give it a native interface.

These are all suggestions - no concrete offers seem to be around
though.
