Here are two websites for Christensen. Note the spelling.

Ian convinced me of the strength of this proposition at OOoRegiCon.
Children often are overshot by a generalist education which
provides them with more general eduction than they need to
accomplish that which is most rewarding for them. Also, the
generalist education can kill their spirits by telling them that
they are not skilled, when in fact, they are skilled, they just
need to be motivated, and to learn how to motivate themselves by
APPLYING the skills in a WAY that is INTERESTING to them.

Sadly, in San Francisco schools, we also have TONS of non-consumers,
as in most public schools in the US. That is why I have chosen to
focus on one school in an attempt to get computers into that
school, so that we can build up from there.

Also, I would like to encourage you folks to visit DIYparts.org,
because one major stumbling block is hardware. Now there is tons
of free hardware out there, and if we can just get older stuff into
the hands of schools and children, we can accelerate the digital
tipping point. Here is the link:

That is just a shell now, but we are hoping to build it up. Please
email me if you are interested in helping.
