Hello? Hasn't anyone seen this? Does anyone here think that getting OOo
in every school desktop in the United Kingdom would be a good idea?
We're talking about 2 million desktops used by 7 million pupils who
would then grow up learning OOo.
BECTA is the UK agency in charge of IT strategy for UK schools. Ian is
the open source contact for BECTA. Ian has been telling BECTA about OOo.
BECTA is interested in putting OOo in every school desktop in the UK.
Ian writes here asking for input. Get it?
Daniel.

I have just had a meeting with senior people in BECTA and there is
interest in devising ways of getting OOo onto all new PCs sold to
schools. This isn't as straightforward as it might at first sound
because schools buy independently from a vast number of different
suppliers. I have some ideas but if anyone has any of their own let me
know so I can provide some options.
