Though requirement of either give OOo the strong upper hand over MSO, OpenDocument gives by far the strongest.

Using OpenDocument would really ease the re-uses of these lessons. Since OpenDocument presentations can be re-used or re-cycled laters, and since PDF can be generated automatically from OpenDocument, it would make sense to use it as the man format.
