Just a note: there are two words for "why" in Russian. "pochemu" is used 
to ask for cause (Why is the sky blue? == What causes the sky to be blue?)
and "zachem" is used to ask for purpose (Why are you going to the store? 
== What is your purpose in going to the store?)

I don't know if that will cause any problems in this context, but I do 
know that it makes a lot of jokes in English untranslatable to Russian.
