There are several key things to do this successfully (and none of them
too hard IMHO)
1. Identify and articulate 3 "key Messages" that *anyone* who
communicates with a Journalist knows and must try to use in their
discussion.
2. Make yourselves known to as many relevant journalists as you can: The
best way to enamour yourself with journos is something like: give them a
call after seeing an appropriate article they have written and saying
"nice article, I know lots about "X", in fact you could call me when you
are looking for a quote from an "expert".
3. Give them a "story"... People, Pictures, Quotes, Local(ised) and
relevant. If you do their work, they will come back for more...
#2 and #3 are our personal objectives.
#1 Needs to be clear and consistent on a global basis. The key massages
may(should) change over time but must be concise, clear and fairly short.
