Hi,
I just wanted to point at the new approach of the why pages. I
didn´t say they are necessarily better.

At a first glance, the tryout generates bad feelings in me. It starts
with talking about a company called Microsoft, and a proprietary Office
Suite that has nothing to do - as far as I know - with OpenOffice.org
(maybe it's derived from OOo?). To mention an analogy, I discredit
politicians who start their speeches with talking about their rivals. I
think this is a bad approach that generates free (as in free beer)
advertisement for that rival. I dislike the idea to work for Microsoft
without any compensation, in the name of an open source software.

I totally agree with your whole statement.
I also feel uncomfortable because the main sponsor of OOo does
exactly what you are critisizing. For example, whenever you install
or update Java on your Windows computer you will see this
advertisement (sorry german):
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Image:JavaInstallation.png
The two main statements are:
* like Microsoft Office
* free of charge (free beer)
Can someone point me to the source files?

Cheers,
Stefan
