What's with all the trolls to the OOo projects of late? As it should be. Making a web page and posting the URL is one thing, but sending messages with embedded HTML goes far beyond annoyance.
Really? I live in China and interviewed my customers who publish or receive news letters as part of our content publishing (web based) services. Most of our customer consider they feel less annoyed if they receive in HTML without advertisement and with confortable color schema than receiving plain text. "At least they put a lot of effort to make reading easier and more fun, that makes it more worth reading than just dropping us some lines of unformatted text", one customer told me.
That is why the original post asks we should heve a survey. People's opinion can vary such lot. Before I work on a marketing role I used to be a programmer, at which time I believe those who said they prefer HTML are either not able to identify the beauty in plain text or lying to me to justify their doing of sending HTML with bold red color.
