I agree. We don't know any details, and we are neither Sun nor Oracle, so we shouldn't comment at this moment.

For discussions about short-term proposals for communication, we should move to the closed pr@ or marcon@ lists as I expect lots of journalists monitoring the disc...@marketing list and I don't want any false statements in the press.

The best thing would be, if we could ask Oracle to make a more clear and
undiscussable statement regarding OpenOffice.org. I know that they already
did, but to many journalists, this was only to 'buy time'.

I think these were also legal problems, a question of what you are allowed to say during a merger. There has been an official statement of Oracle in a recent FAQ they handed out at OOoCon, telling that their support of OOo will continue. I'm not aware of another official statement at this time.
