plexus-build-utils is IDE agnostic so any IDE potentially can benefit from the extra information from mojos using the API. Don't know why IDEA or Netbeans never came up with an implementation for that API.... I agree that for Maven4 it is best if we integrate that already in the Maven API, but for the mid term I would pretty much suggest that we keep the useful plexus-builds-utils and try to evolve it just a bit as I don't see any other viable alternative.
