Emmanuel,
I did not take things personal at all, I just didn't understand your point.
Not a big deal, though :)
At in fact, not that it really matters, I still don't agree with you
about the cross-posting.
Well, I don't really think that in general cross-posts are a good thing,
but when some technical options are in stake, it's better to X-post than
not.
In this very case, I was quite surprised because in Trustin mail, there
was a reference to this addition to SLF4J, and I wasn't able to find any
reference to this addition on the SLF4J site. I had to google to find
quite a long thread about this aspect, and as it's a sensible one on the
MINA ML, I _think_ it woukd have been better to X-post.
Anyways, this may be just me, and I won't fight for ever, as it's not
really carrying any added value...
Requesting Ceki to add MDC support for jul to SLF4J has no direct impact on MINA
(all projects depending on SLF4J benefit from it).
AND this was announced on this mailing list before I made the request
AND it was announced on this mailing list after it got approved.
AND I didn't consider MDC a hot topic (maybe logging frameworks itself
are, but not MDC)
MDC is not specifically a hot topic. This was the reference to Lof2Log
which made me react, in fact. Sorry if you were what I will call a
'collateral dammage'. This was not intended at all !
but indeed, I did mention MINA in the request to Ceki.
Next time I will consider cross-posting :-)
Well, just use common sense, and I think it will be enough...
To conclude, I would like to second Alex and David: Let's move forward now. :-)
Damn yes, let's move on !
So back to the real subject: does anyone object against removing
IoSessionLogger ?
I don't, at all !
rm -rf IoSessionLogger :)
