I filed issue 48146 to complement the scenario:

It's all but obvious to me why the behaviour of the buttons did change.
It broke, I filed the issue (36372). It worked again, then the behaviour
of the buttons did change :-( (and issue 48059 was filed)

Well - talking about OOo 3.0 ist too early given that we don't know what
the process will be for OOo 2.1
