I thought that at least under Linux OpenOffice uses IBM ICU for rendering. I did not specifically mention OpenOffice, but filed a bug for rendering of Oriya. >There is no Oriya component in our Issue Tracking system because there >is no Oriya Native-Lang Project. Well, actually, I will talk it over with my team members, and first work on settling issues with Oriya rendering, and start on localization. After we have advanced on these issues, we can think about joining the Native Language Confederation. > In order to register Oriya to the L10N project, please register to > the L10N project and contact Pavel Janik. > Anyway, I think your issue could be either filed under the l10n > component, either under the "gsl" (graphic system layer) component. > I'm not sure though, but as Vijay explained, several Indic languages > have been affected by such problems and efficient workarounds have > been implemented. Thanks for the info. I will talk to Pavel, and go ahead and file a bug report under the component that you suggest. I will also talk to Vijay Kumar, Javier Sola and others on Indic rendering issues. It is possible that we might have the help of some students to work on this. Regards, Gora
