To follow up on the issue of improperly rendered Oriya conjuncts, I downloaded version 3.2 of the ICU source code, and it fixes almost all problems. (If you are interested, you can look at the discussion on [EMAIL PROTECTED] and the complete bug report at http://www.jtcsv.com/cgibin/icu-bugs/incoming?id=4606) So, I guess it is either that OpenOffice 1.9.109 uses an older version of ICU (does anyone know offhand, and as to if there are any plans to switch to ICU 3.2), or there is some problem in the interaction between OpenOffice and ICU.Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and help.
