The reason is much simpler. CVS just sucks. :)
there are many things in the world that sucks. (e.g. left driving sucks
to me, but I wouldn't complain about it.)
Try using something new like Monotone, Darcs, or Subversion. After
using one of those for a while going back to CVS is painful. My
personal favourite is Darcs, but Monotone has some interesting ideas
behind it and Subversion has a large following.
Cool idea. Please tell all who like to contribute code to OOo to play
around with new software once a month, just because OOo found, that this
would be better.
Btw, I use Darcs to manage the INGOTs website.
Great for INGOTs. But please remember, that we are targeting hunderts if
not thousands of contributors. It's ok to raise the problms of the
OOo-environment and suggest better soultions.
And please .. as long as you don't have the perfect solution that would
fit to all peoples needs (and I'm shure, you'll never find one) stop
using words like "sucks". That's rather "trollish" behaviour and in no
way helpfull for our community.
